Working with TASO

Good News!

My research proposal about malaria prevalence in HIV positive pregnant women has just been approved by the TASO research team. I have been working with TASO, The AIDS Support Organization, for the past two months. TASO is the oldest and largest AIDS support organization in East Africa. I have been learning a tremendous amount at the center and out in the field, everything from triage to HIV testing. For the past few weeks I have been working on this research proposal. Despite preventative measures taken by TASO, malaria continues to be a tremendous burden on their patients. Malaria and HIV co-infection is particularly dangerous for pregnant women.

I will begin collecting data on Wednesday!!
